While driving on a New Hampshire road tonight a REAL one of these ran in front of the car following the contrapuntal honking of the horn to my passengers' a cappella rendition of Feliz Navidad. That moose stood a pretty solid 9' tall I reckon, and elicited a fairly clean, non-profane interjection from my mouth. True story. Except for the non-profanity.
